The Honeymoon

We will fly out to New York on Wednesday, May 31st, arriving around 5:30. We fly out on Saturday night at 9pm to Rome.  We will have three full days to see NY. We will endeavor to keep it relaxed.  The major goals are Central Park, the Metropolitan Art Museum, the Statue of Liberty and dinner w/ my cousin Jessica.  We are hoping for the MOMA and the Guggenheim and will take it from there. I know we can't see it all so that will probably keep us busy enough.  Kirk also put in for tickets for "The Letterman Show" so that will be fun, if we get in.

Then we will have a couple of days on our own in Rome before we leave on a tour for ten days. We don't know what to expect with the tour, but it was such a good deal and we will see just about all the "must do's".  We are keeping an open mind.

We will leave Rome to Naples to get on a boat to Capri, then Sorrento, Assisi, Venice, Pisa, Tuscany, Florence and back to Rome.  It's supposed to be a three on a scale of 1-4.  One being leisurely and four being on the go, go, go.  Then we will have four days on our own in Rome after the tour.

We are so excited to see all these famous sites and honeymoon in Italy. We look forward to drinking espresso and sitting at the street cafes all afternoon to watch the people go by.

Rehearsal Dinner

A personal chef that is good friends with my cousin Felicia Trujillo will be cooking for this event. Her name is Tanya Headley and is planning a Spanish Tapas themed dinner for us. Her website is Everything Edible. Please consider her for a small event or for coming in and filling up the fridge for the week.

This event will be for the wedding party and immediate family.

The Ceremony

The Ceremony will begin at 12:00 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambe. Nambe is a small community about 30 minutes north of Santa Fe is where Maria grew up. It is located along a river and is one of the more green areas in Northern New Mexico. Her family dairy farm, "Rancho Las Lagunas" is a mile away from the church. All group family photography for the wedding will occur after the ceremony. David Alfaya will be photographing our wedding, check out our photographers website www.alfayaphotography.com. Maria's mentor and dear friend, Mindy Turner designed it.

Felipe Ruibal, Maria's classmate from kindergarten to college will be singing for the mass. He is spectacularly talented and passionate about music. Please visit his website, www.feliperuibal.com.

Directions to the Church
Head north on Hwy 285/84 and drive through Pojoaque, exit east on County Road 503B to Nambe, drive two miles and the Nambe Church will be on your right.

The Cocktail Party

We are planning a small gathering of our immediate families and out of town guests only.

This will be at our home between the ceremony and reception. We are sorry to not include everyone, but we knew it would be an unmanageable amount of guests to host everyone in our home.

Please take this time to visit the beautiful area of Northern New Mexico and let us know if you need suggestions on what to see.

The Reception

The reception will begin around 7:00pm at Dos Amigos, a restaurant on Riverside Drive (the main drag) in Espanola. Dos Amigos is a traditional New Mexican restaurant owned by Duane and Dustin Chavez. They are twins around our age and have worked hard to transform the restaurant since they took over Dolly's four years ago. They have completely redecorated, and added a patio/courtyard and bar. Dinner will be served, beer and wine will be provided and mixed drinks will be available on a cash basis.

Directions to Reception
North on Hwy 285/84 to Espanola, drive almost through town and Dos Amigos is on the east side of the street before you get to Wal-Mart. The address and phone number is 1206 N Riverside Dr, Espanola, NM 87532 (505) 753-3161

Maid of Honor

Camila Louise Roybal
Maria's lovely sister Camila has honored us in agreeing to be our Maid of Honor. She will have just finished her bachelors degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management at New Mexico State University in May. Congratulations to her!!! Camila is a wonderful cook and even thought about being a chef as a profession. She did internships at Walt Disney World, Marriott and at the world famous La Fonda Hotel in Santa Fe.

Best Man

James Pannucci, PhD.
Kirk's softball buddy and colleague Jim has honored us in agreeing to be our Best Man. Jim and Kirk have worked together at Los Alamos National Laboratory for the past six years. They play softball together every spring and summer and eagerly await the February and March evenings when they can go outside and throw the ball for practice. Jim and his wife Leslie are wonderful friends of ours and we have dinner at each others homes as often as we can. Jim and Leslie just recently relocated with their two children, Abbe and Owen, to Frederick, MD. We are happy they are closer to their families on the east coast and miss them a lot.

Our Gift Registries

Firstly, we want you to know that your presence during this special time is present enough. We appreciate your cheer, good thoughts and blessings as we take this next step in our life. If you do wish to get a wedding present we have registered at three places.

We are registered at www.nambe.com for our holiday entertaining table items. Items on the Nambe registry and the list can be accessed on the website and at the retail stores located in Santa Fe, Albuquerque and Taos. Nambe can also be purchased (sometimes for a lesser price) at department stores, American Home Furniture and "The Nambe Shop" (a Nambe outlet) located in Pojoaque. These stores will not have instore access to the registry list so a printout from the web will be helpful.

We are also registered at www.bedbathandbeyond.com for general householdware. The registry list is available for shopping in the stores.

Lastly we registered at homedepot.com to help us continue to do work on our home. We both really enjoy working on our house, the inside is nearly done and the outside landscaping is starting to take shape.

Travel Arrangements

We appreciate all of you who will be coming to New Mexico to be a part of our wedding day.

SANTA FE
Nestled at 7000 feet in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Santa Fe, New Mexico, the "City Different", is America's oldest capital city and claims a long history and rich cultural heritage. Santa Fe is filled with great restaurants, galleries, shops, museums.

Please note: Because of the high altitude—a lot higher than where most of you are coming from—it is VERY IMPORTANT that you drink a lot of water before and while you are here or else you are almost guaranteed to get a wicked headache.

Flights should be booked through the Albuquerque (ABQ) airport, this is about 2 hours from our home.

Please email us and let us know if you need help planning or have questions about the area. mariaroybalAThotmailDOTcom or kdrATlanlDOTgov.

Hotel

We have reserved a block of rooms and negotiated a better rate for you all to stay if needed. Homewood Suites is located about 10-15 minutes from our home. Five minutes to the church. The general number to Homewood Suites is 1-800-CALL-HOME or dial 505-455-9100 direct. The website is www.santafenorth.homewoodsuites.com. Please mention the Roybal Rector wedding.

There are several different options for suites.

There are fully operational kitchenettes in each room. A complimentary light dinner w/ beer, wine and sodas is served Monday-Thursday. A complimentary hot breakfast is served every morning. There are cribs available and highchairs in the dining area. All rooms have a fold out double bed sofa in the living room area. They also have a grocery shopping service if you want them to stock the fridge with a few essentials before you arrive. There is a beautiful pool and 36 hole golf course at the hotel.

The studio option is $89 and is closest to a standard hotel room w/ a king
bed.

There is a one bedroom option with a king bed for $99, this bedroom is
small w/ only a couple of feet around the bed perimeter, this will not fit a
crib very well.

There is a one bedroom option with two queens for $109, this option is
quite spacious. The bedroom is the size of a standard hotel room and then there is the kitchen and living room attached.

Lastly there is a two bedroom suite for $169 which has the same living
quarters area and one bedroom with a king and one bedroom with two
queens.

Directions from Albuquerque Airport to Homewood Suites in Pojoaque.
Take Interstate 25 North to Exit 276B, SR 599 to Espanola/Los Alamos. Drive 14 miles and merge onto Hwy 84/285 and drive 11 miles to exit 177, Buffalo Thunder Road. The hotel is at the end of this short road.
